Royal Redux Harry and Megan Set To IIIlumimate Invictus Game 2023

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to light up the Invictus Games 2023, held in Dusseldorf, Germany from 9th to 16th September, confirming their attendance at the grand Closing Ceremony of this year's event. Buckle up folks, the Sussexes are in the house, and it's aiming to be an electrifying affair!

The news, unveiled by close pal and Sussex insider Omid Scobie, suggests that while Harry will stay ringside for the whole event, Meghan is due to join him on the closing day before they jets back to the US. "Harry will be there from the start and Meghan will join him later on in the competition. They'll both be at the closing ceremony.", addressed a spokesperson.

Before the Invictus Games launches, however, duty calls Prince Harry, 38, back to his home ground, the UK, where he would honor seriously ill youths and their families, sponsored by the WellChild charity, at an award function on 7th September. Sadly, Meghan, 42, bows out from this event, flying directly to Germany for the Invictus Games.

As the Games unfurls, 550 athletes from 21 nations will compete in 10 sports, keenly pushing their boundaries and perhaps, redefining it. But there is more to the games than just the competitive spirit. The Invictus Games have remained a significant event for Prince Harry since he founded it in 2014. It marked the couple's first public appearance together in 2017 and continues to root a strong bond between them and the armed forces.

Interestingly enough, the Sussexes are geared up to offer more than just their royal presence. They are set to take an active part in the Games' Closing Ceremony–Harry to deliver the concluding speech, and Meghan to spotlight the inspiring stories of some valiant athletes, in a 'Lifestories Scene' segment. It seems the royal duo is gearing up to make this year's celebration as special as ever.

And the royal hoopla doesn't end there! Sharing the stage with the Sussexes will be Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the German President, and pop sensation Rita Ora, who will be casting a musical spell over the audiences.

Wrapping up the events in true entertainment spirit will be the Heart of Invictus Netflix documentary, filmed around the 2022 games, and set to release on August 30th, 2023. The docufilm, a part of the Sussexes' acclaimed £80million deal with Netflix, encapsulates the triumphant journey of the athletes and the Invictus Games. Prince Harry could be seen insisting 'It'll be the best games ever' in a video message recorded earlier.

We'll mark our calendars, tie our laces and gear up for this charged sports event that's not just about battling wounds, but also about celebrating life and resilience. Roll on the thunder, Invictus Games 2023, we're waiting!
