Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make huge offer to help make amends with royal family

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly made a huge offer to the Royal Family in a bid to 'make amends' after becoming estranged to the family back in 2020

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly planned to "make amends" with their estranged family members back in the UK. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a statement when they left the Royal Family and their royal duties behind, for a quiet life in Montecito, California, but now it seems they're ready to put the past behind them.

Meghan and Harry are said to have offered to rent an apartment in Kensington Palace and have reportedly agreed to furnish it themselves, reveal royal insiders. The move is primed to be a bid to impress Harry's older brother, Prince William, who he sourly fell out with following the release of his tell-all memoir, Spare, and his wife, Kate Middleton.

In Spare, Harry alleged that Prince William called Meghan “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive” which Harry says was “parrot[ing] of the press narrative”. He also claimed there was a physical altercation between him and his older brother which saw Harry allegedly shoved to the ground.

However, the source has claimed that Harry and Meghan are extending an olive branch, in the form of a rented apartment. They told OK! Magazine : "Harry and Meghan are offering to rent an apartment at Kensington Palace and furnish it themselves. He hopes that will please William and show that they’re serious about coming back."

However, the Duke of Sussex is still said to be wary of becoming a "prisoner of the palace" should he return," the insider added. The potential reconciliation between the Sussexes and the royals is being widely discussed by royal experts, who aren't overly keen on their relationships ever recovering.

Talk TV’s Royal Editor Sarah Hewson told Sky News Australia : "I see no signs of that whatsoever. The damage, the wounds are so deep it’s gonna take an awful lot and an awful long time to heal those wounds. And, at this stage, I just don’t see any evidence whatsoever that there is a desire on either side, yet, to put an end to this and to forgive and forget."
