What Kate and William Said When ‘Barbie’ Actress Joked About Taking ‘Harry’ to the United States in Front of Prince William and Kate Middleton

The year 2020 was nothing short of a whirlwind when it came to the royal family, as it saw its first senior royal members’ resignation with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Coincidentally, it was also the year that Prince William and Kate Middleton decided to make a big BAFTA comeback after maintaining a ‘no comment’ policy on Megxit. But little did they know that this Barbie is not afraid of cracking jokes about one of the royal family’s shocking moments in history.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s exit from the royal was a colossal phenomenon that shook more than just Britain. Therefore, it would have been too big of an elephant to ignore in a gathering of artists that thrive on creative freedom. However, this Barbie actress was the last person on the list of guests prone to making Megxit jokes.

Margot Robbie is one courageous performer. Be it in her portrayal of Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad as she took the mantel of doing her own gravity-defying stunts or when she defied the norms as she immersed herself in the role of controversial figure skater, Tonya Harding in I, Tonya. This display of courage is not restricted to only her multi-million dollar movie projects as she decided to let her intrusive thoughts about Prince Harry flow in front of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The Australian actress got on the BAFTA stage to receive the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ in place of Brad Pitt and read his speech from a paper. This included a bit about naming the trophy “Harry” because he is “very excited to bringing it to the United States” with him.

Robbie nonchalantly dropped the bomb in front of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The royal couple, who obviously had front-row seats, immediately found the camera pointing at them. But surprisingly, Prince William did not storm on stage to yell, “Keep my brother’s name out of your f***ing mouth.” Instead, both the former Cambridges laughed heartily.

This proves that not only do Prince William and Kate Middleton know how to brush off accusations but also take a joke. However, with how smoothly the broadcast went, one wonders if the Australian actress is friends with the couple.

The tales of Margot Robbie’s courage do not end with doing stunts or making jokes. Owing to her acting prowess, she was chosen to play the role of Queen Elizabeth I in Mary Queen of Scots. With how she adapted the character down to the last morsel, it seemed like she had been years as a royal or with the royals.

The Barbie actress was not one of the many celebrities that met Queen Elizabeth II. However, she hit the ball out of the park with his grandson, Prince Harry. The very “Harry” she, in the words of Brad Pitt, was excited to take back to the United States. But is the United States excited to have him? A recent survey would say so.
