A royal book coming out in paperback next week has revealed a number of shocking bombshells.

From King Charles’ clear out following the death of the Queen, to Kate wanting a tougher response to Harry and Meghan, a number of stunning new details emerged.

The new revelations come in Valentine Low’s Courtiers book, reported by The Times.

It shed light on the internal machinations of the Royal family, and the people who wield power behind the throne.

Alongside that, it added more detail to the squabbling royals, including around the time Harry and Meghan gave a bombshell interview to Oprah Winfrey.

‘History will judge us’ - steely Kate

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sat down with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, during an explosive interview.

They made a number of damning allegations against The Firm, most worrying was the accusation of racism that one family member made enquiries as to the skin colour of their upcoming child.

As the royals scrambled to come up with a response, one eyebrow-raising phrase was included at the suggestion of one of the courtiers.

Part of the royal response read: "recollections may vary" - essentially calling into question the validity of what the Sussexes’ said.

But once included, Kate was reported of having come out in defence of it.

It was claimed she said: "History will judge this statement and unless this phrase or a phrase like it is included, everything that they have said will be taken as true."

Kate wasn’t the only one to take a firm stance against the self-exiled royals in the aftermath of the interview.

William also came out urging the family to set out their stall in defence of themselves.

It was reported the Wales’ were clearly on one side of the debate on how to respond.

William was said to have pushed the group discussing the response to ensure they were, in some way, refuting the claims made against them.

It was reported that he said: "It is really important that you guys come up with the right way of making sure that we are saying that this does not stand."

As the nation mourned, and senior royals dealt with the loss of the head of the royal family for decades, staff were facing redundancy.

Around a hundred royal workers received letters warning them they may lose their job, the extract reported.

The shocking news was delivered just four days into the mourning period, and left some “visibly shaken” and others furious.

With the death of the late Queen, a substantial number of royal workers were no longer needed.

Whilst expected, the redundancies still left a “sour taste” for many.

Modernising the family with no Eton-educated staff

King Charles has repeatedly spoken about his want to modernise the royal family - even as he spent £250million on hhis coronation.

But he isn’t the only royal spearheading these efforts, as his son and future king, Prince William has also made baby steps.

When hiring his second private secretary, he checked up upon his schooling background.

Once this may have been to ensure he went to Eton - like William - or a similarly expensive private school.

But the Prince of Wales wanted to make sure that he had been educated at a comprehensive school.

Inside the warring royal factions

The new book touches on the different power bases within the royal family - including the aftermath of when one is removed.

It describes how power was concentrated around the late Queen, Charles, and his sons William and Harry - before his self-imposed exile.

It also delves somewhat into what each of these factions were like.

The Sussex household was said to be "us against the world", whereas Charles and his people were fighting on multiple fronts, the late Queen on one side and his sons on the other.

Meanwhile, William's power base was said to be acting more along the lines of figuring out what alliances it could and should make.

One courtier said: "Everyone has their battlefield mentality, whether that’s what the family wants or not."
