Two Words From Prince Harry Left King Charles 'Devastated' and 'Crossed A Line'

Efforts at reconciliation between the royals of Westminster and the royals of California have long been in the news cycle, but two words from Prince Harry about Queen Camilla may have really got King Charles's back up

Two words from Prince Harry were a defining moment when he “crossed the line” in the eyes of King Charles, a royal expert has claimed.

Words written in the Prince’s memoir Spare about Queen Camilla, according to Daniela Elser, would have been extremely hurtful to the monarch given the "love story".

The words could have done a great deal of damage to the chance of reconciliations between the Montecito and London royals.

Writing in News.com.au Daniela explained how, in January when Spare was released, his use of the words “wicked stepmother” will have stung the King given his long journey to be with her.

She said those “few words managed to leave the King ‘devastated’”.

Daniela wrote: “When His Majesty read those two blasted words – “wicked stepmother” – his son would seem to have crossed the Rubicon; that he crossed a line in the sand that dealt a disastrous blow to any chance of reconciliation and a regal hug coming Harry’s way any time soon."

The royal critic's words came in the context of reporting from Telegraph columnist Camilla Tominey who penned: “It is no secret that, behind palace gates, the King was ‘devastated’ by Harry describing [Queen Camilla as] his ‘wicked stepmother’ [and] as ‘dangerous’ and a ‘villain’ who left ‘bodies in the street’.”

This hurt and pain on the part of Charles were broken down by Daniela, who explained: “And here’s where you have to keep one very important thing in mind about the King.

“He might be one of modern history’s most famous cheaters, but he only ever, ever strayed with one woman; a woman he has spent decades moving heaven and earth for such that she can assume her place by his side.”

Daniela continued: “There is, if you think about it, a certain romance to it all. It might not seem it, but theirs [Charles and Camilla] is quite the love story."

Harry was last publicly seen with his father at the King's Coronation in May, but they were never seen close together on the day.
